Waiting times at the Reservation office are not acceptable. This problem continues year after year. Sometimes you need another day to get service. It's a shameful bottleneck for valued tourism in Uganda.

All staff members are receptive right from the gate to the office you aim for. Most of the time I'm there for Reservations into the National parks. Payments are made easy, only one detail I don't get is charge for a car dropping people going to sleep in a concessional lodge. I dont understand why such a vehicle should pay. Seems like one has to carry their luggage to the lodge otherwise any drop off vehicle pays. Otherwise, individuals are allowed to make payments for private trips into the parks as well as tour companies.

We had an unpleasant experience tracking the big cats at Queen Elizabeth National park with a guide who introduced himself as Mr James. He was very rude and rather aggressively demanded that we pay him a separate fee from the amount required for tracking the big cats. We have no problem paying what they call a community fee and we did so. However I understand that money goes directly to him and he still feels entitled to an extra fee in terms of tips especially from foreign tourists. He was very uncourteous and assumed I did not understand the language when he was talking to our guide about us. I would definitely recommend tracking to anyone who wanted to see the big cats up close but only if they had another guide and NOT James.
