No rete internet.
Having visited this lodge three times, I've noticed a marked decline in standards over the years. The caretakers and relatives have now moved into the main house, with much of the property suffering from neglect. Hunting activities have all but eradicated wildlife sightings and posed safety issues.
Infrastructure issues such as power outages and poor sleeping facilities reflect disinterest from the management. The road to the lodge is in dire condition, requiring at least two hours to get to the lodge from the airport (more if trees have fallen which is common). The cabin was wet and infested with mosquitoes, cockroaches and bedbugs.
The cost of visiting has become exorbitant, providing little value for money. There is a shortage of rental cars in the country and those that are available tend to be older. Alcohol-related disturbances at the lodge were common, significantly detracting from the peaceful ambiance.
English-speaking tourists might find French Guiana unwelcoming due to its poor tourism infrastructure. Furthermore, the lodge's claims of being eco-friendly are dubious at best, with blatant disregard for waste management and water safety.
Although I met a few friendly locals, the overall experience was disappointing and at times unsettling. I strongly suggest considering alternative jungle destinations.

Insects in the rooms, but you'll be amused.
Would like to go back.
