Wonderful place.Everything you need is there.Very beautifull garden.Coming from 27 years to Harare with group of tourists.I will put amanzi lodge on the top of my list for my guests. Thanks to honor the finest hospitality style of Zimbabwe and Africa.
Loved our meal here. Nice stop at the bar before being seated. Really good interesting fit-out and facilities. Eclectic menu, both courses for both of us were great.
Service was really well meaning, and when the waiters have a bit more experience it will be excellent. (the training was there, just not fluent yet)
Six star al fresco smoking area. International class wonderful.
Quaint boutique hotel with very good amenities. Staff is very polite and helpful. Owners are present a lot. Great for couples or small groups. Delicious local food, with very good African wine selection.
Will definitely return!
I only put 2 stars for Hope and George. Thank you.
The rest of the service is bad and sadly what could have been an amazing experience left a sour taste in my mouth.
I visited my brother-in-law who was staying here on a business trip. He was in the Seychelles suite which was very luxurious with a King-sized bed, balcony, large shower and claw-foot bath.
We went for dinner in the restaurant and the menu was a contemporary mix of local ingredients made in Euro-cuisine style. For starters I had the Nyanga Trout ceviche which was fresh, flavourful and well-seasoned. My mains was the Moroccan Lamb Curry and dessert was a very delicious frangipani blueberry tart.
Our server was very knowledgeable and communicated well. However we were somewhat ignored at the tail end of the meal when a large dinner party arrived.
We decided to have some cognacs for our nightcap and this is where a very good experience turned sour. The cognac cos $140 for the round or $70/glass. When asked the server tried to justify saying it's Hennessy VSOP, but even then the pricing was spectacularly exorbitant.
All in all, a great experience... Just don't order the Henny.
If you are in Zimbabwe and you want a fine dining experience Amanzi is the place for you. My husband took me there for our anniversary and I had a lovely time. The oxtail and mash was so good that I try to recreate it at home with no success. The staff was so warm to us spoke to us in our local language (Shona) to make us feel more comfortable. Amanzi is one of the top places to be in Harare.
No wonder they call it Amanzi (water) because this restaurant is sure to make waves in the culinary scene. Transport yourself to the heart of the savannah with their rustic lodge-themed decor, the cosy and warm atmosphere is the perfect escape from the winter chill complete with rearing fireplaces.
Their knowledgeable and friendly staff make the menu and drink selection effortless and the bartender whips up a mean margarita using freshly squeezed limes! The culinary preparation is exceptional, the peri prawn risotto showcases a masterful blend of creamy well-cooked risotto rice and succulent prawns, complemented by a spicy touch of chilli. If you're in the mood for a fruity dessert, the blueberry frangipane tart is delightful and perfectly balances the sweetness of blueberries with the richness of almond cream, creating a burst of flavour that is sure to satisfy your fruity cravings. The amaretto affogato dessert was a perfect end to the meal for those who enjoy a boozy decadent treat to satisfy their sweet tooth!
Overall Amanzi offers a unique dining experience, making it an ideal spot for a romantic date or a night out with friends seeking something beyond the typical city restaurant scene.
