Ein kleines aber feines "heterofreundliches" Hotel im Herzen von Barcelona. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und das Frühstück ist zu dem Preis absolut unschlagbar. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

2021: Incredibly awful!! Who in the world isn't itching to travel somewhere fun right now? I would sincerely love to come but the pandemic is not allowing this to happen! Just issue a credit! This was supposed to be our honeymoon

The hotel did not allow an early check-in (not even paying). The room we were assigned was very poor; we paid for a "premium room" and were allocated to the first floor with no view. The only view was from a patio where people smoke. I asked the front desk about the "premium room," and they said that was a premium (it did not look like the pictures shown on the website). The breakfast was very poor and limited; the bread was not even fresh. Baristas were quite rude if you asked for more than one coffee, even though it was buffet-type. The hotel said it had two bars but only one was open at the time. TV was limited to a handful of channels (none in English, unfortunately). Despite being listed as a 4-star hotel, the facilities were poor without any character.

Personale molto antipatico. Ci sono stato con la famiglia occupando ben 3 stanze riservate per 3 notti... quando ho chiesto di prolungare di una notte mi hanno detto di non avere disponibilità. Quando gli ho fatto vedere che sul loro sito la disponibilità c'era, mi hanno detto che si erano sbagliati e mi hanno offerto la camera per 250% del prezzo rispetto alla notte prima...

Außergewöhnliches schönes Hotel

My stay at this hotel was fantastic, thanks in large part to the exceptional service provided by Joaquin and Eric at the reception desk. Their warmth, efficiency, and attentiveness made me feel truly welcome from the moment I arrived. I appreciated their helpful recommendations. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. I highly recommend this establishment, and I will definitely be returning on my next visit to the area.

I had an exceptional stay at this hotel and I couldn't have been more impressed with the service. From the moment I arrived, the reception staff, particularly Joaquin and Eric, went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. Their professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to assist with any request made my experience truly memorable. The hotel itself was impeccably clean, well-maintained, and good located. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and I look forward to returning on my next trip.

Great location, friendly service since I put my feet on the main entrance...Front Desk- Joaquin was very affable, he even help me to plan my tour in Barcelona and some recommendations where to eat...Daniel was also one of the team members that make sure everything was okay with my staying... I want to come back to Barcelona and stay here, specially for the great crew....

The hotel is well located at the heart of l’Esquerra de Eixample, close to nice restaurants, cafes/brunch, bars and quite connected by metro stations to city center/Barceloneta, Born. The hotel facilities are a bit outdated, they do deserve a renovation. A plus is the drag show on the rooftop with the marvellous hostess Patricia Delicious. Many of the reviews for Axel are very unfair. Funny how, some straight couples do not understand (or pretend not to admit) that the hotel is one of LGBT’s iconic venues worldwide and it is proud to be heterofriendly. Needless to say, if you don’t like it, simply do not book it.

I went back to Axel after years and I have to say this has been the last time. Unfortunately the overall shape of the hotel has declined - it really needs a renovation - and a lingering smell of sewage mixed with bleach welcomes you in the hall. The overall cleanliness is debatable, and having to literally walk through toilets to go to the breakfast room is not the best way to start the morning. But unfortunately the worst part was the service: superficially polite but useless when it comes to problem solving, the staff was oblivious when I complained about having only „one hour free wellness“ for one person included in the booking when I booked a room for 2 people, and having discovered that the turkish bath was broken only after entering the spa area. The surcharge of 15€ an hour for wellness is ridiculous, given that most spas in town charge 15/20€ a day and that the Axel wellness is in a stinky cellar. Also irritating is the fact that if you book a massage you‘re told you will have to pay cash at the moment, but then they try to charge you again with the room bill. Too many incoveniences for an unjustified high price. I ended up not even using the included breakfast buffet because of its quality and having to wait ages for a terrible coffee. The swimming pool on the terrace is literally a small fountain, this has been known, but the fact that the bar on the 8th floor is almost never open makes the whole rooftop useless. One last note: the words „hetero friendly“ welcome you while entering the building, nothing wrong with that, we love inclusivity, but if I choose a gay hotel I wouldn‘t expect to be sorrounded by almost straight couples only. Hard pass.

En el 7° piso del Hotel Axel está el Sky Bar. Un sitio elegante, con vistas espectaculares y shows variados durante la semana. Buena música y variedad de bebidas y ambiente alegre e informal. Muy recomendable!

On the 7th floor of the Axel Hotel is the Sky Bar. An elegant place, with spectacular views and varied shows during the week. Good music and variety of drinks and happy and informal atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Realmente el sitio es más pequeño de lo que se vé en imágenes, ví en una reseña que entraron en el lavabo de mujeres y pensé que sería casual, a mi tb me ha pasado, se nota la falta de higiene en muchos sitios, sobretodo el baño.. los masajistas creo que ni siquiera lo eran..no funcionaba uno de los chorros del spa, en general hace falta más mantenimiento.

El lugar es ideal para ir con amigos y disfrutar unas copas con una vista espectacular.

Rooms are small gor the cost but otherwise great stay

Extremely rude guy at reception. I arrived very early on an overnight flight from
New York and had notified them of my 7am arrival when I booked. The guy at the reception told me there was no check-in before 3pm (even though I offered to pay extra for early check in) and gave me a lot of attitude. Zero customer courtesy and very rude staff.

He estado en el bar y bebido unas copas y estuvo la música bien, en buena ubicación y en general.fue una experiencia ok

Am späten Vormittag gebucht, am Mittag eingecheckt. Wohl habe ich übersehen, dass keine Haustiere gestartet sind. Zwei Tage mit Kreditkarte bezahlt, bis man herablassend, arrogant und unhöflich darauf hin, dass das Haustier draußen schlafen muss.
Mit mir ging man allerdings nicht besser um: Geld hab ich keines zurückbekommen. Trotz langer Diskussion. Mir blieb nichts anderes übrig übrig, wie noch mal ein anderes Hotel in der Stadt zu buchen, wo man zu meinem Hund und mir freundlicher war.

Wer Unfreundlichkeit und Arroganz erleben will, ist hier herzlich eingeladen

Everything about this hotel was PERFECT! The staff seemed to go out of there way to accommodate all of my needs. Everyone from the housecleaning and maintenance staff to the front desk clerks was PERFECT. The location is do central and in a wonderful Gay neighborhood. This was my first time to Barcelona and I hope to be back as soon as I can. Upon return, I would not consider staying anywhere else than the Hotel Axel, because all of my needs were not only met, but far exceeded any and all of my expectations GOOD JOB ALL and THANK YOU!

This is my second time staying at the Axle hotel in Barcelona will probably be my last or maybe give it another Try. this hard to get past the service that is excellent. However a few things that needs to be approved….. they have 1990 TVs and With a smart remote, that is actually not a smart remote

Sometimes you just wanna chill from a long day working or getting off a 18 hour flight and look at Netflix, when you’re in your room is your sanctuary and I feel that the hotel actually failed flat in that tremendously, you have 1990 TVs in the year 2024. You can’t mirror your iPhone or connect to Netflix or download any type of movies The staff literally said to me when I asked him he said this is not the Ritz To me, that is unacceptable, for what guest a paying, especially when hostels have smart TV.

My suggestion is also when you book with the hotel to ask directly, what are you getting just to sit in the Spa, hot tub or steam room was €15 addition to your stay. This is new … I was there for both work and business

Hotel en el Gayxample totalmente decadente y anticuado en sus instalaciones y con un servicio y personal pésimo. Muy mala experiencia en recepción con Douglass. Me dieron una habitación sin luz natural y cuando pedí otra su respuesta fue que todas las habitaciones de mi categoría estaban llenas y que la única opción era pagar más por un upgrade a una habitación prenium (lo dudo ya que el hotel estaba vacío). Mi única exigencia era un poco de luz en la habitación y en ningún caso una habitación por la que pagar más. Las habitaciones son viejas y oscuras y la decoración es horrible. El desayuno es de mala calidad y de nuevo el personal es antipático y poco servicial. Todo el tiempo me han atendido en inglés. Deberían hacer un esfuerzo y dirigirse a los huéspedes nacionales en español. Lo único positivo es la ubicación y el gimnasio (las máquinas son antiguas pero es muy completo).

Mais quel bruit dans les couloirs, je comprends que les femmes de ménage doivent faire leur travail, mais vraiment est-il nécessaire de claquer les portes à 7h08 heures 9h du matin impossible de dormir claquement de porte aspirateur Cris dans le couloir elle parle entre eux je trouve que c’est un manque total de politesse je pense que vous devrez respecter les gens qui viennent se reposer et qui sont aussi dans un hôtel, énormément de bruit de la part des femmes de ménage est-ce que le claquement de porte est-il nécessaire ?

Excellent hôtel situé dans le quartier de l'example, quartier gay de Barcelone. Les lits sont confortables et les chambres décorées avec soin. La vue de la terrasse est exceptionnel.

Excellent hôtel très bien placé (non loin du quartier université)
Tout le personnel très agréable, sauna confortable, petit déjeuner complet.
Le rooftop est juste excellent, avec une vue imprenable.
Chambre très propre
Je recommande.
