Really beautiful small hotel in a great location in walking distance (or a short tuktuk-ride) from all the important sights.
The staff is very sweet and helpful. A little slow, but understandable as we visited during the Ramadan.
We stayed in room 23 and really loved the views from the balcony.
All the food we tried was delicious. Also very much the breakfast included in the room price.
We had to check out early to catch a flight and it was a little stressful as they had forgotten a few items on our bill.
We managed to sort it out, but we should have settled the bill in the evening. ;-)
As everywhere else there is an added fee to pay with credit card. Think about paying up front when you book to avoid the fees.
I wasn’t aware but I’m sure it was in writing somewhere! :-)

Beautiful small hotel located perfectly just behind the Old Dispensary, within a walking distance to every must see in Stone Town.
The rooms are very clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed every single minute spent in the rooms. The rooms are equipped with ceiling fan and AC as well.
Extremely beautiful garden and pool area, perfect place to have breakfast. Speaking of which, the breakfast is really well made too. It‘s mainly western breakfast, we especially loved the fruit choices. Didn‘t try lunch nor dinner.
The staff was really friendly and helpful. We came at dawn (3AM) on our check in day and we had hoped to be able to rest on the couch until we were allowed to check in, but they let us sleep in one of the other rooms instead (until our room was ready) without charging us extra!
One inconvenience is that it‘s very close to the port and next to the hotel is a mosque which is why it gets really loud in the morning or during prayer times. But it’s nothing that can be changed. If you need quietness for your sleep this might not be the right accommodation for you.

Be careful when checking out. They are using an incorrect FX rate and you can only pay in USD with card.
Is essentially a 12% surcharge + 3% additional card use charge. And you have no choice unless you run to an ATM.
Not a nice way to end a trip, feeling gouged. Surely their reputation is worth more than this.
Otherwise the hotel itself is quite nice, a solid 3-star stone town hotel.

Beautiful place, deco is amazing, the best sleep I had in a long time and the pool ? Wow. All together great place to stay- amazing.

Très bel emplacement dans un ville qui n'a que peu d'intérêt.

Hôtel situé juste à côté d’une mosquée reveil a 4h30 du matin… les volets ne ferment pas, douche avec vue sur le balcon des voisins les vitres ne sont pas opaques… les lits ne sont pas faits pour les personnes qui font plus de 1m70 avec la tête et le pied de lit en bois…
Cependant le personnel est très gentil et serviable, la nourriture est bonne.
C’est le seul hôtel depuis nos vacances ou nous avons payé l’eau c’est dommage…

e Kholle House est une maison typique d'une ancienne Princess Zanzibarotte située au coeur de Stone town. La décoration est typique. Preferez les chambres 20 et 21 qui disposent d'une terrasse ou la 14 qui est spacieuse. Petit déjeuner complet compris et excellent. Terrasse sur les toits appréciable. Accueil parfait.
